Locating & Documenting Non-Metallic Buried Utilities
Presented by the New Jersey Water Association and Eastcom Associates
Course Description:
This workshop will benefit those who are involved in the location of underground utilities with an emphasis on non-metallic lines, those who supervise staff who provide utility locating services, and those who are responsible for selecting or purchasing utility locating equipment.
The session will begin with a classroom discussion of technologies and equipment available for locating non-metallic utilities and will also include a module on preserving this information for use in a GIS system.
Weather permitting, some time will be spent outdoors utilizing some of the equipment discussed in the classroom session, including a brief GPR & GPS location demo, and hands-on use of the equipment.
The seminar might be postponed due to severe weather.
