Course Description:
Regulations due to concerns with lead in drinking water started in 1986 and have gone through several changes over the last 30+ years. Starting in 2021, both the USEPA and NJDEP established revised and new requirements for the lead and copper rule and for lead service lines (LSL), with additional USEPA regulations proposed in November 2023. This course will cover an overview of existing and new rules and deadlines; required inventory development; updates to lead and copper sampling and notifications; requirements for LSL replacement planning and funding.
