Course Description
To maintain a healthy and safe work environment, OSHA recommends employees in various industries participate in workplace safety training.  Topics to be covered are designed to familiarize workers with OSHA Standards as well as safety and health hazards common to the workplace.  This training is designed to be interactive with a goal to educate workers on identifying, avoiding, controlling, and preventing job site hazards.
 
Topics (5) to be covered:  Hand & Portable Power Tools - course explains the hazards and controls associated with a variety of common hand tools and hand-held power tools; Advanced Fall Protection - course covers OSHA regulations for when and how to use fall protection to avoid falling objects & struck-by hazards; Safe Vehicle Operations – course covers what it means to be a safe driver and helps you identify areas of focus designed to increase your safe driving skills; Work Zone Safety - course provides critical information on preventing fatalities in work environments where live traffic is present; and Drug & Alcohol Awareness - course explains how drugs affect the body and describes specific substance abuse risks related to the workplace. You will learn about the consequences of drug abuse and actionable steps you can take to avoid working under the influence.
 
The material covered is presented over a single day: April 4, 2023. NOTE:  Attendance for the full day is required to earn your TCH’s, CPWM accreditation, and Certificates of Completion
